Program Background
 The Abington Bulldogs Youth
Wrestling Club's (ABYWC) origins trace back to the now-defunct
Jenkintown Youth Wrestling Program.
The closing of the Jenkintown club, coupled with the closing of the
Cheltenham club, left a huge wrestling void in the Abington and
surrounding township areas.
Enter the ABYWC, which affords youngsters in Abington, Glenside,
Cheltenham, Jenkintown, Roslyn, Ardsley, North Hills, Willow Grove,
Elkins Park, and other local communities the opportunity to learn
wrestling basics and compete in team matches and tournaments.
The ABYWC teaches discipline and -- while wrestling is recognized as a
one-on-one sport -- teamwork. Even though the club is still relatively
new, it has enjoyed a rising level of competitiveness, but not at the
sacrifice of turning away kids of all skill levels.
